The Illinois Technology Foundation is pleased to present a series of webinars focused on issues and opportunities that will assist the Student Technology Club (Club) member to make the transition from academia to industry.
We will be inviting professionals from industry to present. Professionals with a finger on the pulse of the technology industry.
The seminars will be held in the later afternoon typically around 4pm CST and will last for one hour. The webiar series will last from October through May of each year.
We want the presentations to meaningful and impactful to Club and welcome the feedback from the audience. In addition, we want to hear from you about topics of interest. Recommend a Topic.
Here is the initial line up of webinars:
- February 2013 – “Life at Accenture” Vid Byanana, the executive director of global infrastructure at Accenture, will provide an overview of the role of IT at Accenture
- March 2013 – “The Value of Industry Certifications” Corey Simpson, director of member communities at CompTIA will lead a panel discussion on the value of industry certifications.
- April 2013 – “Power of Social Networking” Mark Griesbaum, senior vice president business operations at TCS Education System and recent president for the Society for Information Management will lead a panel discussing the power of creating and maintaining a social network including joining and participating in industry associations.
- May 2013 – “Becoming a Consultant” Jim Hart, president the Burwood Group, will share insights on the skills required to be successful in the consulting industry.
